HARTING AdvancedMC(TM) Plug

The AdvancedMC(TM) Plug replaces the card edge and associated gold contact pads of the AdvancedMC(TM) module.

Following the launch of the AdvancedMC(TM) connectors in con:card+ quality, HARTING developed a new connector to further increase the contact reliability of the connection of AdvancedMC(TM) module and MicroTCA(TM) backplane. The AdvancedMC(TM) Plug replaces the card edge and associated gold contact pads of the AdvancedMC(TM) module.

The production of the AdvancedMC(TM) card edge is still expensive while the quality of the contact surface and the tolerances are unstable. The HARTING AdvancedMC(TM) Plug connector is manufactured in a defined process and offers highest contact reliability and protection against wear and corrosion.

The insertion force of the module is reduced significantly. Due to the connector, the PCB thickness is no longer limited to the specification values of 1.6mm +/- 10%. Depending on the PCB design, the signal integrity behaviour can be superior to the card edge gold pads.

The AdvancedMC(TM) Plug is mounted on the module via „pin-in-hole-reflow“ soldering and is pick and place compatible. It is designed according to the AMC.0 specification and can be used in both MicroTCA(TM) and AdvancedTCA®. In conjunction with the MCH plug, it can be used for the MicroTCA(TM) Carrier Hub.
